Our Story
Mined ancient. Made for now.
SAL started with a simple idea: the best salt is the one nobody has messed with. We find it in the ground, keep it that way, and put it in your hands.
Hundreds of millions of years old
Where it begins
Long before people, a shallow sea dried up and left thick beds of salt. Layers of rock sealed them in. Today our salt comes from the Khewra Salt Mine in Pakistan, one of the oldest and largest salt mines in the world. Local legend says Alexander the Great's army found it in 326 BCE. People have been digging ever since.
We go to the source because we want you to taste the source.

Pink for a reason
What is in the crystal
Rock salt is mostly sodium chloride, with small traces of iron, magnesium, calcium and potassium. The iron gives it the pink color. The flavor is mild and rounded, never harsh.
Our Wellness line follows the same instinct. Shilajit is a dark, mineral-rich resin that seeps out of Himalayan rock. We offer it as a shot, a gummy and a resin.
Almost nothing
We keep it simple
The salt is mined, then crushed and sorted into fine and coarse grains at our plant in Karachi. It is packed without bleach, anti-caking agents or additives.
From fine grains for the shaker to whole rock licks for the barn, every product stays as close to the rock as we can keep it.

From Karachi to your kitchen
SAL is based in Maryland. We pack in Pakistan and ship across the United States. We make four kinds of things: salt for your table, soaks for your bath, licks for your animals and Shilajit for your routine. Same mine. Same rule. Nothing added.
